Buffy Summers was born on 19-01-1981 in Los Angeles as daughter of Hank and Joyce Summers. She lives with her parents in LA untill her parents divorce after an marriage full with marital troubles. 

She enjoys playing Power Girl with her cousin Celia in her childhood when she was eight. She witnessed the murder of Celia in her hospital bed by Der Kindestod , a demon who kills only sick children. The demon was only visible to those who were ill, which gives her a fear of hospitals after the experience.

She studied at the Hemery High School in 1995, where she became a popular cheerleader who was elected as Prom Princess and Fiesta Queen. She was kicked out of school after she has put vampires on fire in the gymnasium. She moved with her mother to 1630 Revello Drive in Sunnydale, which is a small town in California.

She studied at the Sunnydale High, where she became friends with Xander Harris and Willow Rosenberg. She met also librarian Rupert Giles who's an general authority figure. He is a father figure to her who is often portrayed as an straight man with his stuffy Oxford sensibility. He is also advisor of her friends Xander Harris and Willow Rosenberg and together they form the Scooby Gang. She met Cordelia Chase who's an superficial cheerleader reminiscent of Buffy, before she became vampire slayer, and met Angel an mysterious and handsome stranger who aids Buffy with cryptic advice. 

She was chosen as vampire slayer by fate when she was fifteen in 1996. An strange man informs her about her extraordinary destiny when she was young. She realizes soon that Sunnydale High located is on a Hellmouth, which is a portal to demon dimensions. This place attracts supernatural phenomena to the area, while her presence was predestined. She rejected her slayer duties in favor of a normal life, but was forced to come in action, in order to stop the vampire ritual ''Harvest by the Order of Aurelius'', a vampire cult under the rule of ancient power vampire Master, who was trapped underground in Sunnydale.
